Story of Brothers of The Holy Family
Fruit of the Jubilee of the year 2000 and after the decision of the General Chapter of 1996 our Congregation decided to open a mission in Asia and in the framework of the Federation with the Holy Family Brothers of Vietnam we open a community in Davao, Mindanao Island, Philippines in February 2000


Fruit of the Jubilee of the year 2000 and after the decision of the General Chapter of 1996 our Congregation decided to open a mission in Asia and in the framework of the Federation with the Holy Family Brothers of Vietnam we open a community in Davao, Mindanao Island, Philippines in February 2000.
After study the situation with the help of some friends of another Congregations we started the Gabriel Taborin Technical School on 18th June 2001. With the time and updating the programs in 2008 the name changed to Gabriel Taborin College of Davao where there is a High School, a Technical School and a College. The centre is a place of Education, evangelization and a solidarity in a very humble neighbourhood.
The community works in the College and School, in times were the Novitiate and accompany the Nazarene Fraternity.
In 2007 was opened a Formation house in the quarter of Obrero for the Scholastic Brothers. In 2010 we moved to our own house in Buhangin where apart from the Formative activities the house welcome groups for recollections.



On 1st March 2011 we started our presence in Indonesia opening a Community in Nita-Maumere, Flores island. In July we received our first Aspirant and in July 2013 we had our firsts novices and the inauguration of the formation house in Nita for the Aspirants, Postulants and Novices. The house will be blessed one year later.
On 14th November 2013 the first Brothers arrived to Timor Leste for preparing the foundation. On 9th August was opened the Scholasticate in Bucoli. The vocation Promotion was done previously by the Brothers from Indonesia in some of their trips. The community and aspirants moved to the new house on 15th July 2020.
On 26th July 2014 was the beginnings of the community in Kupang, Timor Island as community of Scholasticate for pursuing the civil studies of the Brothers. The new house was inaugurated in July 2017 and blessed in January 2018.
These communities develop an intense activity of Formation, Vocation Promotion and scouting.
The first mission community was open on 12th August 2020 in Ndona, Ende, Flores Island.
Few days later was open on 30th August 2020 a community in Nanga Tayap, diocese of Ketapang, Kalimantan island.
On 10th October 2021 was open in Balai Berkuak, diocese of Ketapan, Kalimantan island a community of mission.
On 23rd October 2022 was open in Noehaen, diocese of Kupang, Timor island a mission community.
On 10th September 2023 was open a community in Noemuke, diocese of Kupang, Timor Island.
On 29th October 2023 was open in Pangkalan Bun, Diocese of Palankaraya, Kalimantan island a new community.
The first community of mission in Timor Leste was open on 1st August 2024 in Ponilala, Archdiocese of Dili.
All these communities develop a educational mission in public and diocese schools and a pastoral and liturgical ministry in the stations.
Our communities were depending from the General Administration directly from the year 2000. In October 2016 we were created as a Delegation. And in the process of revitalization and reorganization that our congregation made in the year 2022 all the communities of Philippines, Indonesia and Timor Leste were erected on 18th June 2022 as a Vice-Province with the support of the other Provinces. It took the name of Saint Joseph the Worker. On 21st October 2022 was appointed the first Vice-Provincial and the Vice-Provincial Council.
We celebrated our first Vice-Provincial Chapter in Kupang on 27th December 2024.
